    BEHAVIORAL HEALTH QTC MONITORING

    Dedicated QTc monitoring protocol for crisis stabilization units and behavioral health inpatient facilities. Antipsychotic baseline EKG performed chairside before first dose. Eliminates ER transfer for medical clearance. Same-day cardiologist report. 42 CFR Part 2 compliant BAA available. Standing physician order template provided (HT-CSU-001).

    Who to monitor

    • Patients starting or changing dose of QT‑prolonging psychotropics (antipsychotics, certain antidepressants, methadone, others).
    • Those on >1 QT‑prolonging drug or strong CYP inhibitors/inducers.
    • History of cardiac disease, congenital long QT, syncope, family history of sudden cardiac death, bradycardia, electrolyte disorder, or age >65.
    • Patients with significant polypharmacy.

    Dedicated Memory Care EKG Protocol (HT-MC-001) covering cognitive capacity assessment, consent and assent procedures, behavioral observation documentation, and legal representative authorization. Designed for SNFs, ALFs, and memory care units managing residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and cognitive impairment.

    Who to monitor

    • New residents with cardiac history (ischemic heart disease, heart failure, known arrhythmia, pacemaker/ICD).
    • History of syncope, unexplained falls, recurrent lightheadedness, or palpitations.
    • Known congenital long QT or prior torsades/sustained VT.
    • Significant bradycardia (120 bpm) on vital signs.
